A new beginning for 2010

With the request from a client for a life-sized Santa,
I agreed to give it a whirl. With the help of Tom (a friend) who built an anatomically correct armature from steel and wire, mounted on a wooden base, the creation began. The body is wrapped in foam and batting. The head is hand-sculpted from polymer clay, has glass eyes and mohair beard and hair. The wardrobe is done in layers, boots, pants, shirt, under robe, long robe, and a hat to top it off. He wears handmade leather gloves. Each Santa will be one of a kind, taking about six weeks to two months to create. This is a challenging new adventure. Hope you enjoy!
